BUCKS COUNTY – June 9, 2023 – Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) today urged all eligible constituents to apply for Property Tax and Rent Rebates through the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue ahead of the June 30th deadline.
“Each year my office assists hundreds of eligible constituents complete property tax and rent rebate applications, putting money back into the pockets of low-income residents,” said Senator Santarsiero. “As the June 30th deadline approaches, I encourage anyone who may be eligible to reach out to my office for assistance with completing an application. My staff can guide you through the process, answer any questions you may have and assist you in completing the application.”
The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians aged 65 and older; widows and widowers aged 50 and older; and people with disabilities aged 18 and older. The maximum standard rebate is $650.
The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters. Half of Social Security income is excluded in calculating income. Rebate applications can also be filed by spouses, personal representatives, or estates on behalf of claimants who lived at least one day in the claim year and meet all other eligibility criteria.

BUCKS COUNTY – June 9, 2023 − Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) hosted an event in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities to help constituents learn how to avoid becoming the victim of a scam or identity theft.
Nearly 100 individuals gathered at the Bristol Township Senior Center on June 7th to hear from experts about common scams, when to report scams and fraud to the police, how and when to freeze a credit report and how to bank safely online.
“Too often, constituents call my office to report that they’ve been the victim of a scam or identity theft,” said Senator Santarsiero. “I’m excited to partner with the Department of Banking and Securities and Representative Tina Davis to raise awareness about common scams and provide resources and information to help our constituents protect their finances.”
Attendees heard from the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities about the steps to freeze your credit, how to secure your personal information in the digital age and tips to avoid scams by not giving out personal information, not answering calls from unknown numbers and taking time to consider offers and sales pitches in high-pressure situations.
A representative from the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging shared information on the agency’s ability to conduct investigations into abuse, neglect and exploitation, and to make appropriate referrals to those who have been the victim of scams and fraud.
The Bristol Township Police Department urged residents to call the police when they think they’ve been the victim of a scam, noting that calling immediately is best but it is never too late to reach out.
Senator Santarsiero added, “It was great to see so many folks interested in this workshop. We had great turnout for the event, and I look forward to hosting this event in additional locations across the 10th district.”

BUCKS COUNTY – Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) today applauded the passage of House Bill 148 by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The bill, sponsored by Representative Jason Ortitay (R-46) would require schools to annually provide educational information to parents with children in 6th-12th grades about eating disorders and resources to help overcome them. Senator Santarsiero first introduced the bill in 2013 when he was serving in the House, and is currently the prime sponsor of companion legislation in the Senate.
Sen. Santarsiero applauded the House for passing the measure and committed to working with his Senate colleagues to get the bill enacted.
“We have seen a dramatic rise in eating disorders in children and parents are often caught off guard, discovering the problem only after serios complications,” Sen. Santarsiero said applauding the House for passing the bill. “HB 148, which I originally proposed as HB 1959 in 2013, is identical to my bill in the Senate, SB 623, and would help parents prevent eating disorders in their children, provide the information to recognize the problem sooner and connect with resources for a full recovery.”
The bill would also direct the Department of Education, in conjunction with the Department of Health, to develop a task force, which would develop guidelines for providing parent educational information regarding eating disorders.
“Social media has exacerbated unrealistic ideas about body size and image,” Ortitay said. “About 9% of the Commonwealth’s population will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. Eating disorders are most likely to start between the ages of 14 and 25. By educating middle and high school students and their parents, I am hopeful those who need help will be identified quickly in order for them to receive the assistance they need to recover.”
Advocates praised the passage of the legislation and the progress that has been made on the issue.
“I am excited to see this legislation finally progressing toward implementation; all efforts to raise awareness and provide education and resources about eating disorders that will ultimately result in saving lives,” said Martha Watson, who lost her daughter to an eating disorder at the age of 21. “Leveraging the school communities to make this information widely available makes sense. Like my family, thousands of families have lost sons and daughters to eating disorders that took hold at young ages. House Bill 148/Senate Bill 623 is vital legislation that will make a difference.”
Emily Rosenberg, a former constituent who helped draft the original bill in 2012, is an advocate and eating disorder survivor. “This legislation is particularly important to me because of my experience with an eating disorder in high school. It was an intrusive, relentless and unreasonable voice in my head, telling me I was never enough. No child is immune to developing an eating disorder, but these bills will significantly decrease the number of children affected. It has been ten years since I began advocating for this bill, and today, Senator Santarsiero’s, Representative Ortitay’s and my dedication, passion and time has paid off. Having passed in the House, I am highly optimistic it will move swiftly through the Senate and be sent to the governor’s desk and signed into law.”
“Adequate education can save years of suffering with an eating disorder,” said Tamie Gangloff, a Lancaster County resident and group facilitator for the National Alliance for Eating Disorders Support. “Research shows that earlier intervention reduces the need for a higher level of care and increases the likelihood of sustained long-term recovery. The National Alliance for Eating Disorders is honored to be a part of the conversation to provide Pennsylvania parents with dependable and trustworthy education on eating disorders.’
HB 148 now goes to the Senate for consideration.

March 17, 2023- BUCKS COUNTY, PA – Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tim Brennan (D-29) announced today $464,758 in state funding to complete the Solebury Gateway Trail in Solebury Township.
The award is a state Multimodal Transportation Fund grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which will be used for trail construction and intersection upgrades along the 1.6 mile Solebury Gateway Trail, between Kitchens Lane and Sugan Road. The Solebury Gateway Trail runs along Route 202, Lower York Road and River Road, and allows access to Canal Park along the Delaware Canal.
“This project is a decade and a half in the making, having first been planned and engineered in 2008,” said Senator Santarsiero. “I am pleased to see these funds allocated for this project, which will make it possible to move ahead and improve the recreational opportunities in the area and allow all to enjoy the beauty of Solebury Township.”
Representative Brennan said, “Creating recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy is an investment in our future. This state grant will help make it possible to complete a long-awaited project. I’m looking forward to enjoying the trail with my family when it’s completed!”
“Completion of the Gateway Trail has long been a top priority in Solebury Township,” said Solebury Township Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Baum Baicker. “We are so appreciative of the efforts of Senator Santarsiero and Representative Brennan, because until we were notified that we would be receiving these funds, we were not certain we could turn this vision into a reality.”

March 17, 2023- BUCKS COUNTY, PA– Today, Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tim Brennan (D-29) announced a total of $1,193,959 in state funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Local Share Account Statewide Program for community improvement projects based in Doylestown and Solebury townships.
The projects and the awarded amounts are as follows:
- Bucks County: $1,000,000 for Neshaminy Manor Property Improvements
- Solebury Township: $193,959 for Intersection Upgrades at Route 202 and Lower Mountain Road
Bucks County will use the funds for the construction and engineering costs involved with the demolition of the former Neshaminy Manor structure in Doylestown Township and hazardous materials abatement at the site. Since closing its doors in 1999, Neshaminy Manor has been left vacant due to the level of deterioration and presence of hazardous building materials within the structure.
“The economic potential of this property has been stalled for more than twenty years now,” said Senator Santarsiero. “Finally, because of these funds, the county will be able to move forward and welcome new growth on this valuable property.”
“This is such a critically important grant and I speak for all 3 commissioners with gratitude,” said Diane Ellis-Marseglia, Vice-Chair of the Bucks County Board of Commissioners. “This building has become an eyesore, cannot be restored, and it blocks any economic development or improvements in that area. The County would not have been able to tackle this project without help from Senators Santarsiero and Representative Brennan.”
The funds for Solebury Township will go toward improving traffic conditions and safety at the intersection of Route 202 and Lower Mountain Road, adjacent to Aquetong Spring Park. The upgrades include widening Route 202 to three lanes and creating a left-turn median lane.
Senator Santarsiero said, “These funds will provide safer access to Aquetong Spring Park, reduce traffic delays, and improve connectivity in the area. I fully supported Solebury Township’s application for this grant and I am happy to announce these funds have been awarded. These improvements will help Solebury continue to be a thriving community for all those who live and work there.”
Mark Baum Baicker, Chair of Solebury Township Board of Supervisors expressed his appreciation for the funding saying, “This grant for intersection improvement will go a long way toward helping Solebury Township accomplish our goal of increased pedestrian and motorist safety in the area around Aquetong Spring Park. We are grateful to Senator Santarsiero and Representative Brennan for their efforts in obtaining these needed funds.”

Bucks County, PA – March 16, 2023 – Today, Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) announced a total of $2,083,796 in state funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Local Share Account Statewide Program for community improvement projects in Bristol Borough and Bristol Township.
The projects and the awarded amounts are as follows:
- Redevelopment of Chestnut & Elm Streets in Bristol Borough- $1,000,000
- Bucks County Technical High School Facility Improvements- $1,000,000
- YMCA of Bucks & Hunterdon Counties- $83,796
In Bristol Borough, the funds will be used to continue to revitalize properties along Chestnut Street in Bristol Borough. Senator Santarsiero and Representative Davis secured $1.3 million in state funds in October 2022 to begin work on this project. Phase 2 includes the acquisition, demolition, and revitalization of 30 residential units on the 1000 block of Chestnut Street.
“Bristol Borough has seen tremendous growth and rejuvenation in recent years,” said Senator Santarsiero. “I am proud to support this project to further improve the Borough, which will help grow the local economy and increase its appeal for residents and visitors alike.”
Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe expressed his gratitude for the funding saying, “Senator Santarsiero and Representative Davis truly understand the importance of redevelopment in a small town like Bristol Borough. I can’t thank both of them enough for their extreme generosity and support. It’s because of this funding, that we will be able to take our Chestnut and Elm Street project to the next phase.”
The funds for Bucks County Technical High School (BCTHS) will be used to upgrade the existing roof and HVAC equipment at the school.
“The Bucks County Technical High School is a fantastic school that allows students in our area to receive education and certification in trades that can enable them to have long and successful careers,” Sen Santarsiero said. “The grant will allow the school to make much needed upgrades to its building so that students can continue to learn meaningful career skills.”
“Bucks County Technical High School truly appreciates these additional funds,” said Leon Poeske, Administrative Director at BCTHS. “These funds will allow the school to continue making the much-needed renovations of replacing a very leaky roof, replacing the end-of-life HVAC/R units, and replacing our outdated fire/security system. The LSA grant helps the school reduce the funding gap created by the dramatic increase in building materials and supplies. We hope to completely close the funding shortfall by securing RACP funds at a later date so the students can continue to learn and train in our premier technical school. Thank you, Senator Santarsiero and Representative Davis for your support.”
The YMCA of Bucks & Hunterdon Counties will use the funds to purchase two cargo vans for the YMCA branch in Bristol Township. The vans will be used for the food program, summer camp and maintenance.

BUCKS COUNTY- Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) announced today $406,021 in state funding to improve pedestrian safety at the busy intersection of Mill Street and Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough.
“Bristol Borough has become a popular destination, with a thriving main street of restaurants, shops, entertainment and the waterfront,” said Senator Santarsiero. “With the continued growth and revitalization of the area, pedestrian access and safety improvements have become increasingly necessary. The pedestrian improvements at Mill & Radcliffe Streets will allow residents and visitors to park in the lot by the waterfront and safely enjoy the many offerings of the borough.”
The award is a state Multimodal Transportation Fund grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which will be used to add bump outs to slow traffic and make pedestrian crossings safer.
“Bristol Borough and its historic waterfront area are a crown jewel for Bucks County. Efforts by local leaders, such as Council President DiGuiseppe, Mayor DiGuiseppe, Councilman Greg Pezza, Raising the Bar’s Bill Pezza, and others to revitalize Mill & Radcliffe Street and make it a cultural and economic hub have been a resounding success,” said Representative Davis. “A big part of sustaining this success is to ensure people are safe. That is why I am happy to bring this money back to Bristol so that the Borough can make the improvements necessary to keep families safe.”

Bucks County, PA – March 10, 2023– Today, Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representatives Brian Munroe (D-144) and Shelby Labs (R-143) announced $80,000 in law enforcement funding for New Britain Township Police Department through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
The funds were made available as part of the PCCD’s Local Law Enforcement Support Grant program, using money from the Federal American Rescue Plan. The funds will be used for in car camera systems and mobile modems.
“Our communities are safest when our local police have adequate resources to do their jobs,” said Senator Santarsiero. “These technological improvements will improve officer safety and provide accountability and transparency to the residents of New Britain Township.”
Rep. Munroe added, “As a former police officer, I recognize how important it is for local law enforcement to have up-to-date technology at hand. By enhancing their communications with in-car camera systems and cradle point mobile modems, we’re equipping the dedicated officers of the New Britain Township Police Department with more of the best tools possible to serve our community.”
“I am thrilled New Britain Township has received funding to support our local law enforcement,” said Rep. Labs. “The work they do in protecting our communities does not go unnoticed and this grant will ensure they have the equipment they need to continue that work.”

The Local Law Enforcement Support Grant is designed to provide law enforcement agencies with the necessary resources to implement information technology improvements, purchase or upgrade equipment, cover nontraditional law enforcement personnel costs, support retention and recruitment efforts, and provide necessary training and cover related expenses.

Bucks County, PA- February 28, 2023 – Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) joined his Democratic colleagues in the State Senate to call on Senate Republican leadership to bring justice for victims of childhood sexual abuse, by passing legislation to open a two-year window for victims to bring claims on assaults that have expired the statute of limitations.
He issued the following statement:
“The time has come at long last to open wide the door to justice for the victims of childhood sexual abuse. The State Senate can do just that right now by passing either HB 1 or HB 2. House Bill 1 would amend the State Constitution to allow for the two-year look back for claims that are presently time barred. House Bill 2 would do the same thing as a simple statutory enactment. While we believe that a new statute would withstand a constitutional challenge and represents a much faster path to justice, we support amending the constitution if that is what the Republican majority continues to insist on. But we need to do it now.”
“Senate Republicans passed the language amending the constitution in January but coupled it with two unrelated proposed amendments: one allowing voter ID that was so poorly drafted that even its authors could not explain it, and the other permitting the legislature to override executive-branch regulations. Victims should not be held hostage to Senate Republicans’ political agenda on those issues. They have nothing to do with granting victims access to the courts.”
“The time for debate has long passed. Let’s get these bills passed.”
On Friday, February 24th, the House of Representatives passed the constitutional amendment, House Bill 1, by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 161Y-40N. Afterwards, they passed House Bill 2, the statutory change, by a vote of 134Y-67N, in a similarly bipartisan vote.

BUCKS COUNTY − January 6, 2023 − Senator Steve Santarsiero was sworn in on Tuesday for his second four-year term as a member of the Senate of Pennsylvania. Today, he announced his reappointment as Democratic Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee as well as additional committee assignments.
Sen. Santarsiero was first elected to represent the 10th district, which includes a portion of Bucks County, in 2018. His accomplishments include amending the fiscal code in 2020 to pave the way for 8,000 permanent jobs at the former U.S. Steel site, passing Kayden’s Law in 2021 in the Senate, preserving the fracking ban in the Delaware River Basin, and spearheading a budget initiative in 2022 that established $5 million in new disaster emergency funds.
“Serving the people of the 10th district in Bucks County is my honor. I am proud of all that we have accomplished in my first term, and I am humbled to have the support to serve for another four years,” Sen. Santarsiero said. “I am ready to get back to work in the fight to preserve our environment, protect the rights of all Pennsylvanians, and pass commonsense solutions to end gun violence.”

The Judiciary Committee reviews all legislation relating to aspects of the civil and criminal court systems, law enforcement and corrections, and is responsible for evaluating prison staffing, inmate populations, and housing conditions. The committee also oversees the Attorney General’s Office, Department of Corrections, State Ethics Commission, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing and the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission, among others.
The Appropriations Committee plays a key role in the development of the state budget and reviews the fiscal impact of proposed legislation. The Banking & Insurance Committee has jurisdiction over legislation relating to financial institutions and insurers and is tasked with overseeing the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance and the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. The Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee is tasked with overseeing rules, regulations, and legislation that protects the health and safety of the public in consumer affairs. It also oversees Pennsylvania’s 29 professional and occupational licensing boards.

BUCKS COUNTY − January 6, 2023 − The following statement is attributable to Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10), in response to Governor Wolf calling a Special Session of the General Assembly on Childhood Sexual Abuse.
“Reforms to Pennsylvania’s child sexual assault laws to allow victims to bring civil claims against their abusers is long overdue. For more than a decade I have supported legislation to lengthen the statue of limitations for childhood sexual assault claims and open a window for previously barred claims.
“For too long, victims of childhood sexual assault and their families have been denied justice because their claims have been barred by an arbitrary statute of limitations.
“Legal scholars and our state Attorney General have all agreed the General Assembly has the power to reform these laws but the Republican majorities in the House and Senate have blocked those bills and instead have insisted on the significantly more protracted process of amending the state constitution.

BUCKS COUNTY – December 15, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) announced $5,798,480 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) awarded throughout the 10th Senatorial District. The grant awards are as follows:
- $70,250 to the United American Muslim Association of NY, Inc. for safety and security upgrades.
- $75,000 to the Zubaida Foundation for safety and security upgrades.
- $525,164 to Bristol Township for mobile data computers, camera and license plate recognition (LPR) upgrade, and fixed LPR recognition.
- $515,793 to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department for maintaining and expanding the co-responder Victim Services Unit, consultant counseling services for victims of crime and for officer wellness, and mobile data terminals and laptops.
- $125,200 to Falls Township for retention bonuses and implementation of a recruitment program.

“The grants awarded from PCCD will provide meaningful improvements throughout the district to protect our community, prevent crime, and prosecute those responsible for committing crimes.” Sen. Santarsiero said. “These grants will support local law enforcement and victims of crime alike. I was proud to work with my colleagues to pass a budget that allowed for the PCCD to give nearly $230 million in grants using funding from both state and federal sources. I am pleased that the PCCD has awarded nearly $5.8 million in Bucks County and I look forward to seeing all the good it will do.”
The grants from PCCD will allow localities to invest in infrastructure critical to their core functions and prevent them from becoming obsolete. The grants to Bucks County will allow the Commissioners and District Attorney to hire new officers, detectives, and a prosecutor which will lighten the individual caseload and allow the county to function more efficiently. Finally, the organizational grants will allow the various nonprofits in the community to continue to operate in a way that maximizes the safety and security of all involved.
“Community safety is a legislative priority,” Representative Warren (D-31) said. “These state grants to local governments and local and countywide organizations are investments in the present and future safety and security of our communities.”

BUCKS COUNTY – November 21, 2022 – Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) announced today $1.8 million in state funds to support and grow the YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties through the Empower U and Stand-Up programs, empowering and serving the needs of area teens.
“Teens today face unprecedented challenges. Programs like Empower U and Stand Up provide them with a supportive and positive space to work on their health, wellness and self-esteem,” said Senator Santarsiero. “The YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties has been an important part of the community for many years serving as a vital partner to ensure families and youth have local resources and opportunities to thrive.”
“We are grateful to Senator Santarsiero for recognizing the needs of youth in our community by supporting our programs that nurture a young person’s physical, social and emotional health,” commented Zane Moore, president/CEO of YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. “This funding will make a tremendous impact upon our ability to continue to offer these free programs.”
Empower U is a donor-supported free program that was established in 2014 with Y member Peg George. Ms. George was a former member of the PA House of Representatives, serving between 1976 and 1980. She established this program dedicated to the health, well-being, and self-esteem of teen girls as a 12-week program of two one-hour sessions per week. The sessions have the goal of strengthening self-esteem, positive relationships, and overall health and wellness.
Sen. Santarsiero continued, “I was very happy to secure these funds in honor of the late Peg George, a former State Representative from Doylestown and a friend. I am grateful for her vision and all she did for the community, and I am honored be a part of her continued legacy through the growth of the Empower U program.”
The Stand-Up program will be newly implemented in 2023 and will target boys in grades 7-9. Students in the program will receive a free 12-month membership to the YMCA. This membership grants access to facilities for health and wellness, a complimentary fitness orientation, and access to e-sports. The Stand-Up program aims to provide a place for teen boys to improve their physical wellness, meet new friends, and build confidence and other social skills.
More than 90% of boys and girls who participated in these programs experienced overall improvements in physical and mental wellness and improved senses of confidence and self-esteem.

BUCKS COUNTY – November 21, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) announced $2 million in state funds from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) will go to a redevelopment project in Bristol Township, transforming a warehouse space and creating both short-term construction jobs and permanent jobs in the area.
“This warehouse redevelopment project would be a welcome addition to Bristol Pike and the township, creating jobs for the construction phase and permanent jobs upon completion,” said Senator Santarsiero. “I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting my request to dedicate RACP funds for this project, which will help grow Bristol Township’s local economy.”
“These state funds will help support the ongoing revitalization of manufacturing industries in the area through the redevelopment of an industrial and logistics warehouse,” Rep. Davis said. “I thank Gov. Tom Wolf for allocating these RACP funds to this project which will create new jobs and support industry, energizing Lower Bucks’ economy.”
The current property holds a low-occupancy hotel located at 6201 Bristol Pike. The property has been rezoned as Heavy Manufacturing, paving the way for the redevelopment. The project will include demolition of the current structure and construction of a 130,000 SF industrial and logistics warehouse that will include the addition of private water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure.

HARRISBURG, November 3, 2022 – State Sen. Steve Santarsiero and Rep. Tina Davis, both D-Bucks, announced today that they secured $500,000 in Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits to revitalize Croydon and Bristol through support for local business projects.
“I am very glad to have secured these state funds for our district as they will provide critical financial assistance to local businesses, which will in turn help keep Lower Bucks on the path towards revitalization,” Davis said. “These tax credits will be used to improve the functionality and aesthetics of a business property in Croydon and aid in the achievement of long-term plans for a company expansion in Bristol. This state funding will help to drive economic development in Lower Bucks, reaping benefits for local businesses, their employees and area residents. I want to thank Senator Santarsiero for working with me to secure this funding and Gov. Tom Wolf for allocating them.”
“These Neighborhood Assistance Program funds are a key investment to help businesses keep jobs in our community and continue to grow,” Santarsiero said. “The tax credits offered through this program help boost our local economy and incentivize businesses to be strong community partners.”
The tax credits will assist in the rehabilitation of these local projects:
- $250,000 to EDC Real Estate, LLC to purchase and improve the Croydon property that their operating company (B-Tec Solutions) has leased for many years. The company is making necessary improvements to the property, including repairs to the leaking roof and landscaping to beautify the property and clear the vacant lots across the street. All 88 B-Tec Solutions jobs (86 full-time, 2 part-time) will be retained within the Bucks Enterprise Zone through the project. All approximately 40 current Neshaminy Creek Brewing jobs will also be retained.
- $250,000 to Grundy Commons, LLC to purchase the Bristol building in which it currently operates to protect TESCO’s leasehold and to allow for future expansion and utilization of the building to best suit their long-term growth plans. It will help them purchase the building, replace a portion of the roof in addition to some other structural improvements, and make improvements to tenant spaces. This project will retain all of the TESCO jobs in Bristol plus remote jobs. To accommodate the operating company’s ongoing growth, it is estimated that 12 new jobs will be created in the next year.
The Neighborhood Assistance Program is a tax credit program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development. NAP encourages private sector investment into projects that will help improve distressed communities by providing tax credits to businesses that donate capital to support projects that address neighborhood and community problems. NAP can be used for projects in categories including affordable housing, community services, crime prevention, education, job training, food access, blight, special population issues, veteran’s initiatives and long-term community revitalization.
The program has five main components: The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), Special Program Priorities (SPP), the Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP), Charitable Food Program (CFP), and the Enterprise Zone Program (EZP). BUCKS COUNTY – November 2, 2022 − State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) has announced $50,000 in state funds for Solebury Township to assist with a project to mitigate future flooding issues in Carversville.
“Carversville Village has experienced significant flooding events over the years, but was hit especially hard during Hurricane Ida,” said Senator Santarsiero. “After touring the damage and speaking with township staff, Solebury Township shared a plan for dredging and excavating part of the stream, which will help control future flooding from storms. As we continue to see more severe weather from climate change, it is more important than ever that we support our communities with flood control projects like the one Solebury Township is implementing.”
The funding will be used to clean the culvert and dredge parts of the stream, a tributary to Paunnacussing Creek, at Wismer Road and Carversville Road. It will include the removal of debris from the culvert and the use of excavation equipment for bulk excavation upstream. This is the first phase of a larger project that includes stream restoration along the Paunnacussing Creek.
“We’ve been working on many fronts since the destruction to Carversville caused by Ida in September of 2021 to get funding to address the long-term flooding risks faced by our residents,” said Solebury Township Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Baum Baicker. “Senator Santarsiero was able to get us these critical funds for badly-needed culvert dredging. Not only is that work so important on its own but it also seems to have created momentum toward getting us even more help, potentially on the federal level, for projects to shore up the banks of the Paunnacussing Creek through Carversville down to the Delaware River to mitigate future disasters.”

BUCKS COUNTY – October 28, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative John Galloway (D-140) announced $1 million in state funds have been secured from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for a major redevelopment project in Morrisville Borough.
“The redevelopment of a long-vacant property in Morrisville Borough will breathe new life into the area and help grow Morrisville’s local economy,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “Thank you, Governor Wolf, for prioritizing this project at our request, which will provide additional space for commercial and retail development, bringing new business to the Borough.”
“I’m very proud that I was able to secure this $1 million in grant money to help redevelop a part of Morrisville’s history,” Rep. The project will include the renovation and expansion of an existing barn on the property, creating a year-round community center. The center will include an indoor/outdoor teaching kitchen, educational classroom spaces, restrooms, storage, and an outdoor deck.

BUCKS COUNTY – October 26, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative John Galloway (D-140) announced $1 million in state funds from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for the renovation of Falls Township Fire Company No. 1.
“I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting my request to dedicate RACP funds for the Falls Township Fire Company No, 1 project, which will provide the fire company with an improved facility to better serve the residents of Falls Township in emergencies,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “I am incredibly grateful for the time and service of the volunteer firefighters who serve our community, and I enthusiastically supported the fire company’s application to ensure the company has an upgraded space.”
The project will include a large-scale renovation of the existing firehouse, originally constructed in 1958. The funds will be used to help with demolition, the renovation of the existing structure, the construction of an addition to the building and a new building façade. Improvements will include areas for apparatus bays, administration space and storage, along with upgrading sleeping areas, showers, workout areas for physical fitness, radio communications, technology upgrades, training room and kitchen and day room area improvements, which are essential to attract and retain members now and into the future.
“Our firefighters put their lives on the line for our community on a daily basis, but for too long in Falls Township they have not had an adequate facility to work from,” said Rep. John Galloway. “I’m pleased these funds will be used to upgrade the existing firehouse and add a new addition to the property, which will make it easier for the firefighters to do serve the community.”
“As we move towards our 100th year of operation, the current firehouse needs updating,” said Falls Township Fire Company President Michael McClellan Jr. “In order to serve Falls Township, investments are needed to update our facility with the modern amenities required to provide Fire Protection in the 21st Century. The upgrades will benefit our greatest assets, our members. “I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting my request for additional RACP funds for the Doylestown Township Community Recreation Center project,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “The community center will provide a multi-use indoor and outdoor facility for residents and community groups to meet and stay active. Recreation centers are a key component of a strong, healthy and connected community, which is why I enthusiastically support continued funding for this project.”
In June 2022, Sen. Santarsiero announced $1 million for the first phase of the project to construct a multi-use, public community recreation center on the municipal campus in Doylestown Township. The $500,000 in additional funds will be used to remove outdated outdoor activity courts and construct new, contemporary sports courts on the site. Funds will also go toward the construction of indoor classrooms in the community center building.

“I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting our request to dedicate RACP funds for the Bristol Riverside Theatre renovation, which will revitalize this award-winning establishment and breathe new life into the arts scene in Bristol Borough,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “The Bristol Riverside Theatre has produced quality theatre for 35 years, and this project will enable the theatre to attract locals and visitors for years to the area for years to come.”
“I’m proud that I had the opportunity to work with Sen. Santarsiero on securing the $2 million in RACP funds for the Bristol Riverside Theatre renovation,” state Rep. The renovation will be a total overhaul of the theatre, which has not been upgraded since opening in 1986 in a historic movie theater in Bristol Borough. BUCKS COUNTY – October 26, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Shelby Labs (R-143) announced $1,666,030 in state funds they have secured from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company.
“I am incredibly grateful for the time and service of the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company firefighters who serve our community, and I enthusiastically supported the fire company’s application for funding to renovate and rebuild various parts of the fire station,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting our request to dedicate RACP funds for the Plumsteadville Fire Company, which will provide the fire company a state-of-the-art facility with which to serve the community.”
“The new and renovated stations will bring improved safety to our communities,” Labs said, “and it will give our first responders a better place to do their invaluable job of protecting us.”
The grant funds will be used for re-construction of the recently demolished Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company’s Sub-Station #20 and for renovations to their main station #24. These renovations and rebuilding projects will replace the existing, outdated structure, bringing it up to code and ensuring safe operation for years to come.
“This grant application was successful due to the collaborative efforts of the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, Plumstead Township Board of Supervisors, and Bedminster Township Board of Supervisors,” said Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company President Charlie Rumble. “We want to acknowledge Senator Santarsiero, Representative Labs and their staff members for advocating for this public safety project.”

BUCKS COUNTY – October 26, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) announced $1.3 million in state funds from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for Bristol Borough to redevelop multiple properties along Chestnut and Elm Streets in the Borough.
“Bristol Borough has seen great economic growth and revitalization in recent years, attracting new businesses and residents to the area. The redevelopment of the vacant properties at Chestnut and Elm Streets will help the Borough continue to expand its appeal and breathe new life into the area,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for allocating RACP funds for this project, which will help Bristol Borough complete a vision two decades in the making.”
“I am so proud that Sen. Santasiero and I were able to secure $1.3 million in RACP funding to redevelop the vacant properties at Chestnut and Elm Streets,” Rep. Davis said. “This funding will help to rehabilitate these dilapidated properties and help rejuvenate the entire area. This redevelopment is one more sign of Bristol Borough’s revitalization.”
The project is a partnership between Bristol Borough and the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County to complete a project to revitalize properties along Elm & Chestnut Streets in Bristol Borough. Specifically, the funds will used to purchase seven units on Chestnut Street, clearing the way for the demolition and redevelopment of vacant units in the area.
“This project is so vital to the continuing Renaissance of Bristol Borough,” said Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe. “On behalf of Council and Mayor DiGuiseppe, I would like to thank Senator Steve Santarsiero and Representative Tina Davis for their hard work to bring this crucial funding back to Bristol Borough.”

BUCKS COUNTY – October 26, 2022 – State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and Representative Tina Davis (D-141) announced $1 million in state funds from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) will go to the Croydon Fire Company for the construction of a new Emergency Services Building.
“I’d like to thank Governor Wolf for supporting our request to dedicate RACP funds for the Croydon Fire Co Emergency Services Building project, which will provide the fire company a modern facility from which to serve the community,” said Sen. Santarsiero. “The upgraded space will streamline fire station operations, ensuring the volunteers of the Croydon Fire Company have the resources they need to respond to community emergencies safely and efficiently.”
“I am proud to work with Senator Santarsiero to bring this critical funding back to our district,” Rep. Davis said. “This $1 million in grant money will help expand and renovate the Croydon Fire Company’s Emergency Services Building. The renovated building’s upgraded operations will enable its firefighters to more quickly get to residents in danger. This is literally life-saving funding and I thank Governor Wolf for approving its allocation.”
The renovation will be a two phased project. The first phase will entail the demolition of the existing building and site work. Phase two will be the construction of the new building. The new building will contain an engine room, an enhanced decontamination area for equipment, office space, and living quarters.
“Our organization is a completely volunteer fire company that serves a very challenging area, protecting residents, schools, and businesses between an industrial chemical plant, three major highways, and the Delaware River,” said Croydon Fire Company President Bob Struble. “This funding is crucial to allowing us to make the necessary improvements to our station to meet these challenges. We are grateful to Sen. Santarsiero and Rep. Tina Davis for the incredible efforts.”
