BUCKS COUNTY – July 16, 2026 − Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) along with Representative Jim Prokopiak (D-140) announced today $1,500,000 in state funding.
- $500,000 for Pennsbury School District
- $500,000 for River Crossing YMCA
- $500,000 for Falls Township Fire Company No. 1
Pennsbury School District will use the RACP grant to help fund the consolidation of their two high schools into one comprehensive high school facility. This new campus redesign will improve traffic flow, include updated student facilities, and provide better stormwater management for the site.
“Consolidating these facilities into a single, comprehensive high school will create a stronger learning environment for students and educators alike,” Santarsiero said. “This project will modernize campus infrastructure, improve efficiency, and ensure that Pennsbury students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed now and in the future.”
“Pennsylvania needs to do more to shoulder some of the responsibility for school construction and renovations so that it is not just local taxpayers footing the bill,” said Representative Prokopiak. “The $500,000 grant from the state is a much-needed step for local taxpayers as Pennsbury builds a new school to service the next generation of students.”
The River Crossing YMCA Childcare Center will receive funds to install a new playground and enclosure, zen garden, and safety canopy overhang. The new playground is much-needed to provide ADA accessibility and update the space for best practices in safe gross motor-spaces.
“Creating safe, inclusive spaces for children to learn and play is an investment in our families and our future,” Santarsiero said. “This project at the River Crossing YMCA Childcare Center will provide an ADA-accessible play area and include modern safety features that support healthy development. I’m proud to support improvements that help children thrive and give parents peace of mind.”
“Childcare is a vital, and often necessary reality for working families,” said Prokopiak. “We also need to ensure that the children at these facilities are actually having a good time. This new playground at the River Crossing YMCA will help children pass the time and get their energy out before mom and dad come to pick them up.”
RACP Grant funds will also be used for the comprehensive construction and renovation of the Falls Township Fire Company facility. The scope includes essential site work, demolition, and structural upgrades, with significant investment in concrete, masonry, and structural steel. Funds will also complete the building envelope, covering new roofing, siding, insulation, storefronts, and overhead doors. A major portion of the project is critical infrastructure, including the replacement and modernization of the plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
“Our firefighters are frontline heroes who regularly put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe,” said Senator Santarsiero. “I am always proud to advocate for funding that makes sure they have the facilities and resources they need.”
“This investment will help ensure our firefighters have a modern, safe, and reliable facility to serve the community,” said Representative Prokopiak. “By upgrading critical infrastructure and improving the fire station, we’re supporting the first responders who protect Falls Township every day.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity. Local investment is required to receive an RACP grant.
