I am writing with my weekly District Update.
The Pandemic Response
On Wednesday, July 15th, Governor Wolf announced additional targeted mitigation efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19 here in Pennsylvania. Among other things, the new order requires restaurants and bars to limit their indoor dining to 25% of capacity, the closure of dance clubs, and bars that do not sell food, and mandates telework wherever possible. This does not impact outdoor dining, take-out food, or alcohol. Additionally, gyms, hair salons, dentists, and casinos are not included in the order.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is also currently recommending if you travel to the following states, you quarantine for 14 days upon your return home: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.
As we continue to see businesses, restaurants, and activities starting up again, it’s important that we wear a mask and practice social distancing when going out. We also should continue to wash our hands often and thoroughly and regularly clean surfaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Drop-Off Food and Supplies Drive in New Britain on July 18th
The Soroptimist International of Doylestown Area is partnering with Between Friends Outreach to host a community drive for non-perishable food items, hyenine and cleaning products, and gift cards. You can stop by the New Britain Township Building tomorrow morning to give what you can and provide a helping hand to our neighbors in need.
