I am writing with an update on issues relating to the pandemic.
Bucks County Transition to Yellow Phase
The stay-at-home order put in place by Governor Tom Wolf will expire on June 4th. Beginning tomorrow, June 5th, Bucks County and the remainder of the red counties, will move to the yellow phase of re-opening.
As we transition to the yellow phase, when going out, it’s still important to wear a cloth mask, practice social distancing, and frequently wash hands and thoroughly clean all surfaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
I will continue to update you as we learn more about the phased re-opening of the Commonwealth.

Department of Education Guidance on School Reopening
The Department of Education has issued Preliminary Guidance for Phased Reopening of Schools. This guidance summarizes recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, matches these to the state’s Red/Yellow/Green phased reopening plan, and serves as a starting point for school leaders to consider in preparations for the upcoming year.
The preliminary guidance, focusing on planning and procedures to promote safe operations will continue to evolve as further research, data, and resources become available. Additional guidance from the Department will be forthcoming.
Business Guidance for Yellow Phase Operation
The Governor has released detailed guidance specifically for businesses on operating in each phase of re-opening. As Bucks County transitions to the yellow phase, I recommend businesses review this guidance and ensure you are putting practices in place to keep workers and the community safe.
Round of Applause
This week, our round of applause goes to James and Laura Drury, of Keystone Bagels in Levittown, and all of the generous customers who have participated in their “Adopt a Hero” program. Customers can purchase meals on behalf of our local healthcare workers, with donations already being delivered to St. Mary Medical Center, Lower Bucks Hospital, Jefferson Health, and a Trenton hospital since the program began in early April.
