It was my great honor, along with Governor Tom Wolf and Representative Perry Warren (D-31), to welcome legendary sports journalist and Newtown resident, Jayson Stark, to the Capitol in recognition of his earning the National Baseball Hall of Fame's 2019 J.G. Taylor Spink Award. For decades, Jayson has been a trusted figure in sports journalism, and we’re proud to call him our own.

Addressing Gun Violence

I joined my colleague Senator Sharif Street (D-3) in calling upon House and Senate leadership to hold votes on common sense legislation to address the rapid spread of gun violence in Pennsylvania. In the Senate, I have sponsored and co-sponsored several bills on the safe storage of firearms and implementing universal background checks. These bills respect the rights of responsible firearm owners while providing greater safety to our community.

I helped to plant flags for the 34th Annual Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans DV3 Flag Memorial at Falls Township Community Park. The event honors Vietnam War veterans who were killed, captured, or declared missing in action. This event is one small way our community remembers the brave men and women who faithfully served our nation during the Vietnam War.
